Since their precipitous drop began in the fall of 2013, Puerto Rico bonds have been a large component of the customer cases filed in FINRA.  Initially, those cases were largely concentrated on the island of Puerto Rico.  However, with the recent filing of bankruptcy-like protection for Puerto Rico debt, the bond’s influence on larger mainland mutual funds and client accounts is becoming clearer.  This session will discuss the different types of Puerto Rico bonds, the status of the bankruptcy proceedings, where additional cases can be found of Puerto Rico investors as well as the best arbitration hearing and litigation strategies for Puerto Rico Bond cases.
